I found some directions on how to perform some commands on the database but it looks like they are assuming the vCenter those hosts were connected to is still available, and I don't have that luxury in this case. VMware vSphere 6.5 and 6.7 reaches end of general support 15 October 2022, both referenced in. However yesterday I wanted to reuse the licenses from those old ESXi hosts, and it still shows those old ESXi hosts are assigned the licenses from that key, and I cannot assign any more hosts to that key. I found the commands to remove the actual vCenter from the PSC so it no longer tried to connect. One of the sites was shut down completely and the gear was removed and disposed many months ago, however we did not remove everything properly from vCenter before we shut everything down. Assets are vCenter Server systems, hosts, vSAN clusters, Supervisor Cluster s, and solutions. ![]() You can use the license management functionality in the vSphere Client to license multiple assets at a time from a central place. ![]() We originally had three different sites with their own vCenter and had everything linked together using the external PSCs. To license an asset in vSphere, you must assign it a license that holds an appropriate product license key. We have a lab environment running vCenter 6.5 with external PSCs (using the postgres database) and about 10 ESXi 6.5 hosts. ![]()
